Finishing before the structure
An insulated facade over a damp foundation means the render starts detaching after two winters. Sequence matters more than choice of material.
Ventilation after insulation
When a house becomes airtight but the ventilation stays the same, moisture stays trapped inside and mould appears in the corners. Insulation without a ventilation solution is half a job.
Timber structures that look sound
Rot starts where you can't see it - under cladding, at supports, along the roof edge. We open it up and check before the estimate.

Frequently asked questions
Partly - it depends on the scope of work and the house's layout. If work proceeds in stages, for example only the facade or only the roof, living there is usually possible. If the heating or electrics are being replaced, or interior work covers the whole house, it isn't recommended because of dust and disconnected systems.
Interior work can be done year-round. Facade and roofing work have temperature limits - most systems need above +5°C, so we plan that work from spring to autumn. In winter, the preparation and interior-work stages can continue.
We provide the technical documentation an application needs, but the application itself and its approval are handled by the client or an outside consultant.
